Q: Do the timing belts need to be replaced regularly?
A: The timing chain is installed inside the engine and is immersed in the engine oil. Its wear rate is much slower than that of the drive chain. The timing chain of OHC/DOHC engines can usually last for a long time, but after reaching the wear limit, replacement is difficult and may require disassembling the engine for some models. It is recommended to check regularly according to the maintenance manual of the motorcycle manufacturer. If any abnormalities are found, replace it promptly.
Q: How long do I need to wait after applying oil to the chain before I can ride?
A: It is recommended to wait for at least 15 minutes to allow the solvent to evaporate and the lubricating oil to adhere to the chain. If time permits, leaving it overnight would be even better, as it can prevent the lubricating oil from being sprayed out. If you accidentally spray the chain oil onto the tires or brake discs, please immediately clean it thoroughly with a cleaning spray.
